For those who have never been to Switzerland, the breathtaking views of the snow and mountains are amazing. It is worth considering a vacation. But, in the interim, maybe consider buying a Switzerland print or Switzerland poster to appease your senses. As there are literally hundreds of Swiss posters and Swiss prints, there should be something out there to appeal to the art lover, the lover of scenic beauty, someone who has previously been to Switzerland and is looking for the right image to invoke a fond memory. Perhaps the art lover simply wants a beautiful picture to add to their home or office?

Switzerland is a small Western European country consisting of about seven and a half million people, noted for its scenic beauty and wealth. It is landlocked and surrounded completely by other European nations. Part of its geography features beautiful mountain regions and vast snow, which are the features of some Swiss posters and Swiss prints.

If one is going to buy posters or prints of Switzerland, it is important to know that there is a difference between a print and a poster. Posters are often produced in large numbers and are not as high quality as prints. Prints are usually more artistic and can be limited edition items, making them more valuable, or artist signed items, again making the value more substantial. And, subject matter concerning Switzerland is extensive: if one is seeking to collect or display Swiss items in their home, it might be helpful to set some narrow guidelines at first just to keep the collection from not being too overwhelming. Perhaps guidelines concerning age of item, content, or cost will help keep the collection under control in the beginning.

Swiss confederation prints are varied in style. Some look like they have been drawn with crayons or pencil, others resemble watercolor paintings. For some reason this seems to be a common trend of Swiss posters, rather than being photographic style. If someone is looking for scenic pieces, searching for a specific city is more likely to yield results. To search for a Zurich poster yields many scenic photos, including the glass dome of the stock exchange and many panoramics. Posters of Berne are just as beautiful and scenic, featuring an overview of the city. There's also a Berne poster for a bicycling championship that seems to be quite common. Basel land prints are more difficult to find than most Swiss prints, and are quite beautiful also. To buy a Basel poster one might have to spend a little more money than on other Swiss posters, as Basel prints seem to be a bit more pricey than other Swiss prints.

Whatever areas of Switzerland you are interested in, and for whatever reasons someone may choose to buy Swiss posters or prints--for decoration, simply because they like them, or otherwise--they can be a great addition to the decor of a home or office. The beauty of the Swiss landscape is serene and inspirational, and who could not find something to like about that?
